The new 3-component SMART-L / DM 403 dispensing cell is thoroughly modular in construction and flexibly adaptable to different production concepts.
At the Sonderhoff booth the trade fair visitors will experience the new 3-component SMART-L / DM 403 dispensing cell for foam sealing, gluing and potting of industrial parts. The Fermapor® K31 foam sealings as Fast-Cure system and with flame protection will be processed by the 3-component SMART-L / DM 403 for application on small parts of a control cabinet.
The Fermapor® K31 Fast-Cure sealing products are fast reacting 2-component polyurethane foam seals with very short tack-free and assembly times. Thus, further processing and final assembly of sealed parts can start earlier. The special Fermapor® K31 foam sealing system with flame protection fulfils the strict US fire safety standard UL 94 HF-1 for the use of control cabinets.
Flexible and easy to integrate
The 3-component dispensing cell SMART-L / DM 403 with the outer dimension 1700 x 1985 x 2400 mm (width / depth / height) is bigger than its smaller brother SMART-M DM 402. Now, a broader range of various part sizes can be sealed, glued or potted due to the larger traversing area of 1000 x 800 x 250 mm (x/y/z). The mixing and dosing area and the linear robot of both dispensing cell models are placed together on one base frame. For this only a minimal foot print is needed that can be well integrated into existing production lines. Customers from the electronics, telecommunication and IT industry as well as manufacturers of medical appliances may particularly have much interest in that as they need such a dispensing cell for foam sealing, gluing or potting of mostly small parts.
Manuel, semi- or fully automatic part feeding
Production of small and changing batch sizes as well as parts with a large variety of versions are often a demanding process to fulfil. The SMART-L dispensing cell flexibly reacts to it with process-optimized part feeding that helps to adapt to different production concepts. Subsequent refitting of the dispensing cell caused by varying kind of orders is easily done due to its flexible modular construction and standardized single components.
Feeding the dispensing cell with parts for applying foam gaskets, glues or potting compounds is optionally available by hand, semi or fully automatic. In the basic version the parts are placed manually on a worktop into the cell through the front lift gate. Alternatively it is done semi automatically by means of a single-level shuttle table or fully automatically fed via a transfer belt running through the cell.
New safety features: programmable, simple, fast
The new SMART-L dispensing cell convinces with new safety features for an even higher occupational safety and the advantages of an integrated digitalisation of the control technology. By using built-in safety logic safety functions such as guard door switches or optionally light grids and even more complex safety functions such as SLS (Safely Limited Speed) can be realised. By means of programmable safety logic, the safety functions may be adapted much easier and faster. This is a clear advantage in comparison to conventional electrical safety circuits which are less flexible due to their hard-wired functions. The safety functions of the servo-controlled axes of the linear robot are fully integrated in the safety logic and may therefore quickly respond to external safety events.
High user friendliness
Quick and easy access to the dispensing cell for maintenance and cleaning purposes is ensured by large openings of the lift gates at the front and on the sides, as well as by a service door opening at an angle of 180° over the full height. If, for example, the rinsing containers below the mixing and dosing level must be emptied, this can be done in a user-friendly manner by means of a telescopic drawer. The removable cell roof also gives more easy access to the dispensing cell and facilitates the transport. A separate supply level in the cell floor ensures a protected guidance of the electric and pneumatic lines. The hose guide of the individual material components from the dosing pumps to the mixing head has also been improved.
With the new SMART-L / DM 403 dispensing cell we have further optimised the complex, fine-tuned interaction between the dosing machine and the linear robot, as well as operating comfort and labour protection with the new safety features.
