Dosing Cell for the Processing and Dosing of 2K Material Systems
The compactly designed SONDERHOFF 3E dosing cell has been developed as a basic model for foam gasketing, bonding and potting standard applications with FIP (Formed-In-Place) technology.
It is a low-pressure mixing and dosing machine that accurately processes liquid, medium and high viscosity 2-component material systems. The 2K material system used is dynamically and homogeneously mixed in the mixing head. The fully automatic material application takes place in the dosing cell using the CNC-controlled mixing head with precise dosing accurate to contour and dimension of the parts.
The 3E dosing cell series consists of the standardized 3E PUR mixing and dosing machines for processing 2K polyurethane systems and the 3E SIL for 2K silicone systems.
Due to the success of the 3E and the increased requests to also customize the dosing cell, we have developed the configurable 3E FLEX. It offers flexible configurations for adaptation to different customer production concepts.
All three dosing cells (3E PUR / SIL and FLEX) have one thing in common: quick commissioning: set up, connect, and produce – place, plug & work!
The 3E dosing cells are delivered in one piece, fully assembled and in a 20 ft. container.
The three machine types of the 3E are equipped with DM 50x technology and different precision mixing heads such as the MK 825 BASIC or MK 825 PLUS, which score with innovative improvements. They ensure maximum process stability during fully automatic dosing of the 2K material systems used.
The ecological high-pressure water rinsing system installed in the dosing cell is used to clean the mixing chamber from material residues of the reactive 2K materials used. The use of tap water under high pressure saves costs, as we do not need material and disposal costs compared to the conventional use of solvents.
All components of the dispensing machine are arranged on a chassis, so that the dosing cell can be relocated very easily within production if required. As a production island, it requires very little space, with an installation area of approx. 9 square meters.
Various technical service options are available to ensure continuously high machine availability. Preventive and planned maintenance are the basic idea here.

As soon as power, water and compressed air are connected and the two material components of the 2K material system used are filled and prepared in the material pressure tanks, production can begin. With the three machine types of the SONDERHOFF 3E dosing cell, not only large, but especially small and medium quantities can be produced very economically.
The 3E dosing cells are CE-compliant and do not require additional safety fences or light barriers – an efficiency-boosting space and cost saving.

3E PUR
If you want to use 2-component polyurethane systems with asymmetrical mixing ratios for foam gasketing, bonding and potting of your parts, the SONDERHOFF 3E PUR dosing cell specialized for this purpose is the best solution for you.
The 3E PUR features the CNC-controlled precision mixing head MK 825 BASIC, which is designed for typical standard applications. The linear robot integrated in the dosing cell has a mixing head traversing range of 2,500 x 1,250 x 250 mm (x/y/z).
3E SIL
The SONDERHOFF 3E SIL dosing cell is specialized in the processing of 2-component silicone systems with symmetrical mixing ratios for foam gasketing, bonding and potting of parts.
The 3E SIL is equipped with the CNC-controlled MK 825 PLUS precision mixing head, which is designed for typical standard applications. The linear robot integrated in the dosing cell has a mixing head traversing range of 2,500 x 1,250 x 250 mm (x/y/z)..
3E FLEX
If you need a configurable dosing cell that can be flexibly adapted to different production requirements at any time, then the SONDERHOFF 3E FLEX dosing cell is ideally suited for you.
The 3 FLEX with the CNC-controlled MK 800/825 PLUS precision mixing head can be used for foam gasketing, bonding, and potting of parts with liquid, medium- to high-viscosity 2K material systems based on either polyurethane or silicone.
The different components of the 3E dosing cell
Control Cabinet
The control cabinet is the expandable future-proof control center of the SONDERHOFF 3E PUR, SIL and FLEX dosing cell with DM 50x technology. It includes the electrical distribution as well as the control and safety technology for the dosing machine and the CNC control of the 3-axis linear robot installed in the cell.
MP 2 Multi-functional Mobile Panel
The SONDERHOFF 3E PUR, SIL and FLEX dosing cell is designed to enable the operator to perform a wide variety of tasks easily and safely. The system is operated via the easy-to-use, multi-functional MP 2 mobile panel with integrated 10.1“ touchscreen. This makes the contour programming of parts significantly simpler.
Optional Shuttle/Sliding Table
The SONDERHOFF 3E PUR, SIL and FLEX dosing cell offers an attachable sliding table with manually shifting mounting plates as an alternative option for placement and processing of industrial parts for sealing, bonding, or potting. With this solution, a machine operator loads the two mounting plates with the parts in an alternating sequence.
Optional Automatic Refilling Stations
The SONDERHOFF 3E PUR, SIL and FLEX dosing cell can optionally be equipped with a refilling station for automatic material supply. This ensures material-specific preparation, homogeneous consistency and a continuous supply of materials to the material pressure tanks of the mixing and dosing system – without exposure to or contamination of the products to be filled.
