Fully automatic
6-axis robots for guiding the mixing head or the component
KUKA KR 70 R2100
The DM 50x mixing and dispensing machine can also be operated with a 6-axis robot for part handling or mixing head guidance. Here we cooperate with the leading manufacturers such as ABB and Kuka and can provide successful references for automation with 6-axis robots.
Elegant solutions can thus be implemented with 6-axis robots, particularly for geometrically demanding components with difficult-to-access contours or multiple applications on different sides of a part.
By intelligently linking automated movements before, during and after the application process, customized system layouts can be designed, both as stand-alone production unit or fully automated and integrated inline production.
In the fully automated SONDERHOFF MOLD'N SEAL inline production process, for example, the dosing machine and the 6-axis robot for parts handling are combined with an injection molding machine.
Many aspects play a role here:
- size, weight, geometry and radii of the component
- number of applications per part
- speed at which the contour is to be moved
- dimensions of the contour itself
- requirements for integration into the customer-specific production process.
Either the 6-axis robot grips the component and moves it with contour accuracy under a stationary mixing head, which for example is attached to the MKVE 2-axis traversing unit.
Alternatively, the mixing head is attached to the arm of the 6-axis robot and is thus moved precisely along the component contour.
Depending on the material, this configuration also enables "overhead" applications for complex 3D geometries.
